The RESTORE Infusion Program for Fibromyalgia

RESTORE is a ketamine infusion dosed to a measured target concentration in the blood. The first full course is three infusions over three days.
Unless you have it too, nobody understands

If you are reading this and suffer from Fibromyalgia, you already know how difficult it is for anyone without the illness to understand it. Your friends and family may not understand, and worse yet, your doctor may not even understand it. Everyone thinks that you "look healthy" and there's "nothing wrong with you," so why can't you do all of the things you used to do?
But you know why. Everything hurts, everything is a "chore," you have no energy, and you can't concentrate because you're always in a "fibro fog." I suspect that you've gone to multiple doctors in the past with the same health concerns, but none of them could give you a diagnosis. They tell you all of the things "that you don't have," including arthritis, lupus, Lyme's disease, thyroid dysfunction, chemical imbalances, but they can't tell you what you do have. And when you finally get the diagnosis of "Fibromyalgia," there isn't much that they can offer you.
You have been referred to physical therapy, a rheumatologist or neurologist, and perhaps even a psychiatrist. All of whom have recommended exercise, antidepressants, and anticonvulsant medications. Maybe you've also explored acupuncture, massage, and holistic approaches or made numerous other changes but can't get the relief that you need. While some of these things may help for a while, you still can't function the way you used to. It seems as if you can't win and you're not alone. You may have almost given up hope of ever findings something to help get your life back.
Why Do You Have Fibromyalgia?
Current research suggests that a type of "disconnection" occurs between pain-processing brain regions in patients with Fibromyalgia and may be responsible for increased pain sensitivity and other chronic pain states. These brain imaging studies have reported increased activation of the pain processing network in fibromyalgia patients (compared to healthy controls) in response to various stimuli, including touch, temperature, and even weather indicating a "hyper-active" pain detection and processing system. These studies have consistently shown that these "hyper-active" brain responses to sensory stimuli may be due to a 'disconnection" of the centers which usually control sensory processing regions.
The same studies can also measure the number and concentration of various neurochemicals, the two most important: glutamate and GABA (γ-aminobutyric-acid) in these areas. Research now suggests a mismatch of these "excitatory" and "inhibitory" neurotransmitter concentrations - either increased levels of the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate/glutamine or decreased levels of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA - may be responsible for increased pain processing seen in fibromyalgia patients.
"Rebooting" The System
The RESTORE Infusion Program can rapidly block the "excitatory" neurochemical glutamate, reducing pain signals and "reconnect or rewire" these critical areas. This unique ability to "reboot" the brain and "rewire the connections" allows RESTORE to stop the pain in minutes and prevent recurrences in the future.
The effect is definite, and there appears to be an optimal dose of the medication that works best for each patient and condition. By individually adjusting the amount of the medicine, minute to minute monitoring, and adding synergistic agents, the results can be improved and can last for months or years at a time.
The RESTORE Infusion Program is a unique treatment that is individually tailored to each patient and medically supervised. Response varies from person to person, and no result can be promised.
A New Option For Fibromyalgia
We knew we had to look at this in a new way to get the best results, so we took a different approach. Some people have the impression that all people with an illness like Fibromyalgia are alike. With that thinking, you give the same medication, in the same amount to everyone and in the same way, and hope they improve. Unfortunately, as we all know, it doesn't always work well that way.
But we knew that each person is unique and different, so it was evident that the treatment must be tailored to match the patient. Rather than use an old model and expect different results, we used a new integrated and systems model.
There were many factors to consider when treating someone with Fibromyalgia. To begin, the amount of medication needed from patient to patient can vary greatly. Based on our experience, we knew that it was critically important to achieving a certain "blood level" or effective serum concentration, also known as the effective dose for 95% of patients or (ED95), to achieve optimal results. This process can be challenging, and many physicians are unaware of the optimal serum concentrations needed. In addition, other factors such as current medications, body composition, ancestral heritage, and other genetic factors play a vital role in treatment response.
By optimizing the amount of medication given and changing the way it was administered, adjusting it to each patient for a specific condition, and adding synergistic agents, we found ketamine worked much better and lasted longer. Following this approach, we discovered we could achieve better results with only 3 infusions and and the interval before another infusion is needed is decided by your rating-scale score.
Using this new "RESTORE" model and treatment protocol, we have treated people who didn't respond to other conventional treatments, including multiple antidepressants (Cymbalta), anti-epileptics (Lyrica), or pain medications.

Get Your Life Back
Now, there is another option. Ketamine acts on the glutamate system, and that is the basis for using it in fibromyalgia. Response varies from person to person, and no result can be promised.
One factor that contributes to increased sensitivity to pain in Fibromyalgia is the neurotransmitter known as "glutamate." It has been implicated in the start and spread of the pain and disability associated with Fibromyalgia. The RESTORE Infusion effectively blocks glutamate at the receptor site (a little switch that triggers a reaction) in the brain and rapidly improves the symptoms and relieves chronic and widespread pain. But more than that, it has also been shown to consistently mood, memory, and focus...it can take away the "Fibro Fog" that so many suffer.

Now, There is Hope With RESTORE
The RESTORE Infusion Program is used, off-label, in the treatment of severe Fibromyalgia. In a retrospective review of our own patients, the mean interval before a further infusion was needed was about eight months. That review was retrospective, uncontrolled and not peer reviewed, and it is not a prediction of your result.
If you've suffered with Fibromyalgia and almost given up hope of finding relief, now there is hope! However, the number of people receiving RESTORE is growing rapidly. Today, almost 20 years after the breakthrough discovery at Yale, RESTORE is finally reaching the people who need it most.

Is the RESTORE Infusion Program right for me?
If you have Fibromyalgia and have not had relief with prescription medication or other traditional treatment modalities, then RESTORE Infusion Program therapy may be an option for you. Where ketamine helps with fibromyalgia, what matters is how it is given: the dose, the monitoring, and how the response is measured. The RESTORE Infusion Program is built around those three things.
The first full course is you only need 3 infusions over just 3 days. So you can begin treatment on Friday and be back at home on Sunday. And RESTORE is individually formulated and customized to your unique circumstances and conditions so you know that you will receive the best possible treatment that's right for you.

The RESTORE Infusion Center

At the Ketamine Research Institute, we have spent more than 25 years researching and developing ways to enhance the effects of ketamine to make it even better and last longer than the standard infusion. We have achieved those goals by combining current research and innovations in Anesthesiology, Neuropharmacology, and Neurocognition to develop the RESTORE Infusion Program.
The RESTORE infusion protocol was developed over years of clinical work. In addition to the metabolic and genetic optimization of each patient we see, the RESTORE infusion combines concentrated ketamine with magnesium. It is then administered by our physicians using a proprietary infusion protocol to provide optimal blood levels for a more extended period. That is why the dose is calculated to reach and hold a target concentration rather than multiplied out from body weight.
We work with people who have chronic pain and depression with a ketamine infusion protocol built around a measured target concentration in your blood rather than a dose multiplied out from your body weight!
